Anand Math Foundation is holding a nine-day Ashwin Navratri Sadhana Shivir at its ashram in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from 11 to 19 October 2026. Registration is now open to all sincere seekers.
What the shivir includes
The nine days are built around Shravana Sadhana - the disciplined hearing of the Shrimad Bhagavata Mahapurana (First Skandha) - together with Shakti Upasana, daily meditation, devotional practice and personal spiritual guidance from the ashram's teachers. The Navratri period is traditionally held to be among the most fruitful times of the year for such sadhana.
Who the shivir is for
Whether you have followed a spiritual practice for many years or are approaching it seriously for the first time, the shivir is arranged so that both are supported. No prior study of the Bhagavata is required. What is asked is a willingness to keep the daily discipline for nine days.
A typical day
Days begin early with meditation and prayer, followed by the Bhagavata recitation and Shravana Sadhana. Afternoons are given to Shakti Upasana and to personal practice and reflection. Evenings close with devotional singing and guidance. Simple sattvic meals and accommodation are provided at the ashram.
